short answer
What is Cronch?
Cronch is a personal agent for developers that plans meals, water and breaks around your calendar and pings you when it’s time. It is made by two co-founders, it is in private beta, and it is free during the beta.
Why it exists
Flow state is great until it’s 4pm, you’ve had three coffees and zero meals, and the headache arrives before the fix does. People who work at a computer all day skip lunch without deciding to, forget water for hours and stop taking breaks once the afternoon fills with calls.
The usual fixes miss. Reminder apps nag at the wrong moment, often in the middle of a meeting, so you learn to dismiss them. Diet apps want you to log every almond. Cronch takes the other route: it runs on a schedule, knows your calendar and stays out of the way. It is a crontab for lunch.
How it works
It learns you once
A one-minute conversation covers your diet, allergies, budget, how much you want to cook, your work hours and when you don’t want to hear from it. You can edit all of it later like a config file.
It plans the day around your work
Breakfast, lunch and dinner, water and short breaks are scheduled around your hours. Add meetings in plain text or with a calendar link and meals move to after a call instead of landing in it.
It checks in, and you answer in one tap
Pings arrive by email or on the Today dashboard every 45, 60, 90 or 120 minutes, never in quiet hours. Each one is Done, Snooze or Skip. That is the whole input.
It works where you already are
The same day is inside ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code and Cursor through a remote MCP server, and in your terminal through the CLI. Developers can use the REST API too.
What Cronch won’t do
- Order or pay for food. “Order it” opens a search on Uber Eats, DoorDash or Google Maps. You choose and check out yourself, and Cronch never stores a card.
- Count calories. You mark a meal done, skipped or snoozed. Nothing else is asked of you.
- Sell your data or show ads. Cronch keeps what runs your day, uses no third-party analytics or tracking cookies, and you can delete your account and everything tied to it from Settings.
- Ping you during quiet hours. Pings never fire in quiet hours, and they route around the meetings you add.
