# Cronch in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and your terminal.

Cronch speaks the Model Context Protocol. Ask your assistant what’s next, mark lunch done, or find something to eat without opening another tab.

updated october 7, 2026

## How do I connect Cronch to an AI app?

Add the remote MCP server https://api.cronch.io/api/v1/mcp. ChatGPT and Claude sign in with OAuth, so you don’t need a token. Claude Code, Cursor and the CLI use a personal access token from Apps & MCP in your Cronch dashboard. Then ask “what’s next today?”

## The server

- **URL**: `https://api.cronch.io/api/v1/mcp`
- **Transport**: Streamable HTTP (remote). A local stdio server ships with the CLI.
- **Sign-in**: OAuth 2.1 with PKCE (ChatGPT, Claude), or a personal access token sent as Authorization: Bearer.
- **Tools**: 17, listed below
- **Prompts**: plan\_my\_lunch, daily\_checkin
- **Resources**: cronch://today, cronch://profile
- **Server card**: [/mcp/server-card](https://cronch.io/mcp/server-card), listed in [/.well-known/ai-catalog.json](https://cronch.io/.well-known/ai-catalog.json)

You need a Cronch account to connect. Cronch is in private beta, so that means an invite from the [waitlist](https://cronch.io/#join). Tokens can read and act on your day; they can’t change your password, billing or other tokens, and read-only tokens can’t change anything.

## What you can ask

```
> What’s next today? # get_today
> Mark lunch done. # complete_item
> Snooze my stretch, I’m mid-deploy. # snooze_item
> I’m starving, 10 minutes, no cooking. # im_hungry
> Swap dinner for something warm. # swap_meal
> I have standup at 10 and a 1:1 at 3:30. # add_meetings
> Log a glass of water. # log_water
> What’s my streak this week? # get_history
```

## Connect your app

The fastest way is a prompt: paste it into the app’s AI. Agents that can change their own setup do the work; chat apps walk you through it. Prefer doing it by hand? The steps are under each prompt.

### ChatGPT

walks you through it

Paste this into ChatGPT. It walks you through adding Cronch, one step at a time. No token needed: ChatGPT signs in with your Cronch account.

prompt for ChatGPT

```
Help me connect Cronch to ChatGPT. Walk me through it one step at a time and wait for me to say "done" before the next step.
I’m adding a custom MCP server:
- Name: Cronch
- URL: https://api.cronch.io/api/v1/mcp
- Authentication: OAuth (leave client ID and secret empty)
The steps I know: open Plugins, click +, choose Add custom MCP server, fill in the details above, accept the risk warning and choose Create as a plugin, then sign in to Cronch and click Allow.
If my plan or workspace doesn’t allow custom MCP servers, tell me plainly. Once it’s connected, use Cronch to show me what’s next today.
```

1. In ChatGPT open Plugins, click +, then Add custom MCP server.
2. Name it Cronch and, under Connection, paste the server URL.
3. Authentication: OAuth (leave client ID and secret empty). Accept the risk warning and choose Create as a plugin.
4. Sign in to Cronch when asked and click Allow. In a chat, type @ and pick Cronch.

### Claude (web, desktop and mobile)

walks you through it

Paste this into Claude. It walks you through adding Cronch as a custom connector. No token needed, and once it’s added it works on claude.ai, Claude Desktop and mobile.

prompt for Claude

```
Help me add Cronch to Claude as a custom connector. Go one step at a time and wait for me after each step.
- Open Settings, then Connectors, and click Add custom connector.
- Name: Cronch
- Remote MCP server URL: https://api.cronch.io/api/v1/mcp
- Click Add, then Connect, sign in to Cronch and click Allow.
If I’m on a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds it under Organization settings first, so tell me that if I get stuck. Once it’s connected, use Cronch to show me what’s next today.
```

1. On claude.ai open Settings, then Connectors, and click Add custom connector.
2. Name it Cronch, paste the server URL, and click Add.
3. Click Connect, sign in to Cronch and Allow. On Team and Enterprise plans an owner adds the connector under Organization settings first.

### Claude Code

sets it up for you

Paste this into Claude Code. It adds Cronch itself, checks the connection and shows your plan. Replace the token with one from Apps & MCP in your dashboard.

prompt for Claude Code

```
Set up Cronch for me.
1. Run this to add the Cronch MCP server for all my projects:
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user cronch https://api.cronch.io/api/v1/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer cronch_pat_YOUR_TOKEN"
2. Run `claude mcp list` and confirm cronch is connected.
3. Tell me to run /mcp (or restart Claude Code) so the Cronch tools load, then use them to show me what’s next today.
Don’t repeat my token back to me.
```

Or run the command yourself, then type /mcp in Claude Code to check it’s connected.

remote (nothing to install)

```
claude mcp add --transport http cronch https://api.cronch.io/api/v1/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer cronch_pat_YOUR_TOKEN"
```

or local, through the CLI

```
claude mcp add cronch -e CRONCH_TOKEN=cronch_pat_YOUR_TOKEN -- cronch mcp
```

### Cursor

sets it up for you

Paste this into Cursor’s agent. It adds Cronch to your MCP settings and shows your plan. The dashboard also has a one-click Add to Cursor button.

prompt for Cursor

```
Add Cronch to my Cursor MCP servers.
1. Open ~/.cursor/mcp.json (create it if it doesn’t exist).
2. Under "mcpServers", add this entry and keep every server that’s already there:
"cronch": { "url": "https://api.cronch.io/api/v1/mcp", "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer cronch_pat_YOUR_TOKEN" } }
3. Tell me to open Cursor Settings, then MCP, and switch Cronch on.
Then use the Cronch tools to show me what’s next today. Don’t repeat my token back to me.
```

Or add the entry to ~/.cursor/mcp.json yourself, then switch Cronch on under Cursor Settings, MCP.

~/.cursor/mcp.json

```
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "cronch": {
      "url": "https://api.cronch.io/api/v1/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer cronch_pat_YOUR_TOKEN"
      }
    }
  }
}
```

### Your terminal

sets it up for you

Paste this into Claude Code, Codex or any terminal agent. It installs the Cronch CLI, logs you in and runs your first command. Needs Node.js 18 or newer.

prompt for Your terminal

```
Install the Cronch CLI for me and log me in.
1. Check that Node.js 18 or newer is installed (node --version). If it isn’t, stop and tell me how to install it.
2. Install: curl -fsSL https://cronch.io/install.sh | sh
   (Windows PowerShell: irm https://cronch.io/install.ps1 | iex)
3. Log in: cronch login cronch_pat_YOUR_TOKEN
4. Run cronch today and show me the output.
Don’t repeat my token back to me.
```

Or install it yourself:

macOS and Linux

```
curl -fsSL https://cronch.io/install.sh | sh
```

Windows (PowerShell)

```
irm https://cronch.io/install.ps1 | iex
```

then

```
cronch login cronch_pat_YOUR_TOKEN
cronch today
cronch hungry "10 minutes, no cooking"
cronch done
```

### Other MCP apps

walks you through it

Any app that supports remote MCP servers. If it can change its own settings it adds Cronch itself; if not, it walks you through it. Apps with OAuth discover sign-in on their own.

prompt for Other MCP apps

```
Help me connect the Cronch MCP server to this app. If you can change your own MCP settings, do it yourself. If you can’t, walk me through it one step at a time.
- Name: Cronch
- URL: https://api.cronch.io/api/v1/mcp
- Transport: Streamable HTTP
- Sign-in: OAuth if this app supports it (discovery at /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource). If not, send the header Authorization: Bearer cronch_pat_YOUR_TOKEN
Once it’s connected, use Cronch to show me what’s next today. Don’t repeat my token back to me.
```

Server URL over Streamable HTTP. OAuth discovery at /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource, PKCE S256, client ID metadata documents or dynamic registration. Apps without OAuth send a bearer token header.

On Claude Desktop you can also install the [Cronch desktop extension (.mcpb)](https://cronch.io/downloads/cronch.mcpb): open the file and paste your token.

## All 17 tools

| Tool | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| get\_today | Today’s plan: every meal, water and break job with its time, status and id, what’s next, progress and meetings. |
| complete\_item | Mark a meal, water or break done. Defaults to the next open item. |
| skip\_item | Skip an item without doing it. |
| snooze\_item | Push an item later, 15 minutes by default. |
| im\_hungry | Options for right now with recipe steps and Uber Eats, DoorDash and Google Maps search links. Never places an order. |
| swap\_meal | Replace a planned meal with one that still fits diet, allergies and budget. |
| log\_water | Record one glass of water. |
| add\_meetings | Tell Cronch about today’s meetings in plain text so meals and pings route around them. |
| replan | Rebuild the rest of today, keeping what’s already done. |
| ask\_agent | Plain-language requests to the Cronch agent. Slash commands like /hungry work too. |
| get\_history | Streak, meals kept, water per day and breaks this week. |
| get\_profile | Diet, allergies, cooking, budget, work and quiet hours, cadence and water goal. |
| update\_profile | Change any of those; the rest of today is replanned around them. |
| get\_inbox | Recent mail at your Cronch address. Codes stay masked unless you ask. |
| get\_latest\_code | The newest sign-in code at your Cronch address, only when you ask for it. |
| read\_message | The full text of one inbox message. |
| export\_ics | The rest of today as an .ics calendar file. |

Cronch never places orders: food links open a search and you check out yourself. Sign-in codes from your Cronch mailbox are only shown when you ask for them.
